# CASE I Departure
Under CASE I conditions on departure, pilots do the following:
1. A clearing turn
2. Climb and maintain 500 feet, 350 knots
3. At 7NM ahead of ship, speed and altitude restrictions are lifted.
### Clearing Turn
The turn is a 20 degrees left or right offset from BRC. Once 20 degrees has been achieved, pilots will immediately turn back to parallel BRC. Pilots on CATs 1 and 2 will execute a right hand turn, while those on 3 and 4 will execute a left hand turn.
The aim of the clearing turn is to maintain lateral separation for multiple launches from the carrier.
> [!note] Note
> The clearing turn is not to be done aggressively. Pilots must execute the clearing turn with a good degree of control of their aircraft.
### Launch Sequence
After the first aircraft has been launched, sequencing aircraft that are looking to launch must wait until the initial aircraft passes the bow of the ship.
Simultaneous launches can only be achieved on CATs 1 and 3 or 2 and 4.

# CASE III Departure
Under CASE III conditions on departure, pilots will do the following:
1. Straight out departure on BRC.
2. Climb to intended altitude, maintaining 300 knots.
3. Aim to be at or above 1500 feet at 5NM
4. At 7NM, turn to intercept 10 DME arc
5. Fly the 10 DME arc to intercept outbound radial, and depart on briefed/instructed departure radial.
### Launch Sequence
Unlike a CASE I, there must be a minimum of 30 seconds between each launch, with the time starting after each aircraft passes the bow of the ship.
### Departure Radial
During CASE III conditions, pilots leave the CCA along a briefed radial.

# CASE II Departure
Just like a CASE II Recovery, departure under CASE II conditions are a blend of the CASE I and III departures:
1. A clearing turn
2. Climb and maintain 500 feet, 300 knots
3. At 7NM, 500 feet restriction is lifted. Turn to intercept 10 DME arc
4. Fly the 10 DME arc to intercept outbound radial, and depart on briefed/instructed departure radial
